TLC for Plot 41

Another day, another vacant plot. As before, we got a working party together to try and give the plot a bit of a makeover prior to arranging any viewings. We’ve written before on this blog about how plots are almost never given up in a ‘good’ condition – and about the knock on effects of this. And about how we’re trying to work together to prepare vacant plots so that prospective tenants can see what’s there to work with, and can just come in and begin to tend the plot. It seems so wasteful (and so destructive of the natural systems already in place) to take on a plot and then immediately rip everything out and start again – we’d like to encourage a slower, more observational, permaculture-inspired approach to taking on a plot. And the first step in that is a working party to give the plot a bit of attention.

Five people – for an hour and a bit – made a big difference to Plot 41, and we had a lot of fun and helped to strengthen our sense of community. Win-win.

Thanks to Jane, Dave, Karen, Nolice and Janet.
